Everyone is fighting to be the theme song for the drama at 8 on FTV, but yet it has been rumoured that the new series "Father and Son" asked JVR to buy the rights to Jay Chou's "Father" but were rejected, the producer of the series Zheng Zhao Cheng was puzzled saying: "We were willing to spend 20 million on buying the rights but got unexpectedly turned down."

According to reports, "Father and Son" originally was buying Chris Hung's "You Are My Life" for the ending song, later at the preparation meeting someone suggested Jay Chou and Chris Hung's "Father" was even more suitable, thus they discussed it with Jay Chou's agent Yang Jun Rong, surprisingly for them they were rejected, at the end they had to hurriedly buy the rights to the lyrics and melody and get the two brothers Chris Hung and Eric Hung to sing it.

To this, Yang Jun Rong stated: "Jay Chou's vocal has never been used with series that have nothing to do with him, this has always been the strategy of the company. In the past many TV series have asked to use Jay Chou's songs and we declined them all, "Father and Son" isn't the first one, we didn't make an exception, if we did, it wouldn't be right to a lot of other people." After much discussion and communication, Zheng Zhao Cheng stated he understood the difficulties for both parties.
