2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees announced

The Twi-hards strike again. Their influence is apparent in the newly-unveiled list of 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees, which sees the third Twilight flick, Eclipse leading the pack with eight nominations, including Best Movie, Best Fight and of course, Best Kiss.
As usual, stars of the vampire franchise Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, each earns a nomination in the best performance categories. Can they bring home the awards again? It’s hard to say, as this year, Stewart is competing with Hollywood new It Girl Emma Stone (Easy A) as well as newly-crowned Oscar winner Natalie Portman (Black Swan), other than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1's Emma Watson and Just Go With It's Jennifer Aniston.
Her rumoured beau Pattinson will be battling his co-star Taylor Lautner, Deathly Hallow’s Daniel Radcliffe, The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg and Charlie St. Cloud's Zac Efron.
The top prize of the night, Best Movie, will be a battle between the vampires (Eclipse), dream thieves (Inception), wizards (Deathly Hallows), ballet dancers (Black Swan) and nerds (The Social Network).
Mandopop star Jay Chou, who made his Hollywood debut in The Green Hornet, is vying for Best Breakout Star, along with Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy) and Xavier Samuel (Eclipse).
The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards will be held the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on June 5 at 9pm. To vote for your favourite stars or movies, log on to MovieAwards.MTV.com from now to June 4.
