Ms. Universe 2006 1st Runner Up Kurara Chibana |
Ms. Universe 2010 4th Runner Up Maria Venus Raj |
Some people might say I'm too critical about this but no. Of course, it's very notable she made it to the Top 5 after a long time that Philippines was out of that scene. But I just wanna say this, okay it's given she's under stress and all but all of them was under stress while on that stage. But how come, other contestants like Ms. Japan 2006 and Ms. Universe 1st Runner Up Kurara Chibana who should have won than Ms. Puerto Rico was able to deliver a very good answer. She was the most deserving that time.
I applaud Ms. Raj for making it to the Top 5. I know it was hard to make it there. But if she just answered better she could have won, really. It's not because you're under stress but it's how your really think and talk and answer to questions like that. I think her answer was a bit too proud and too confident.
She said, " In my 22 years of existence there is nothing MAJOR MAJOR mistake I have ever done in my life because I'm confident about myself and the love from my family." Come on, there's no one who's perfect there will always be that something, a big mistake you made. It could be a simple mistake but resulted into a big problem.
She could have thought about the time when she was almost robbed of her crown. It's not a mistake but it's a big problem she encountered. She could have derived inspiration from that to deliver a much better answer.
As for Ms. Universe 1st Runner Up 2006 Kurara Chibana, her question was about what is that thing in the history of humanity that she could change if she could. She answered not in English but in Japanese but she gave a very outstanding answer. She talked about men and women, that there should be equality between them. That men shouldn't treat women as someone less but equal because people were created equal. This is the thing that she wanted to change in the history of humanity. It makes so much sense right? Just listen to her answer. And she answered not being too proud just confident.
She's a beautiful lady, a dancer, a journalist and a very clever woman. I'm sure Ms. Raj is an intelligent woman too. But I'm just so proud of Ms. Japan and that I hated it that they favored Ms. Puerto Rico. She was the real Ms. Universe 2006, Kurara Chibana. She was the only Asian that time like Ms. Raj but she was the most outstanding among those other women. Her answer was the best and her performance all through out was very good as well. She's a crowd favorite too. It could have been a back to back win for Japan, Ms. Universe 2006 and 2007. Ms. Universe 2006 should have been Japan's. But it was their real victory.
But still I'm happy for Ms. Philippines but it somehow makes me sad too because she could have won.
