[08/03/11] Jay walks the talk

The King of Mando-pop, Jay Chou, was in town recently to give a two-night electrifying show that captured the hearts of many screaming fans. His recent 'The Era 2011 World Tour', was an amazing show-stopper that it was one of the main highlights of Chinese music industry. The concert, which was held at the Putra Indoor Stadium, was seen as something magical among fans.

The stage was a breathtaking blend of medieval and futuristic elements that highlighted Jay's music. The view from the top tier was as gorgeous as viewing it from below. The stunning stage was further enhanced by 3D floating effects. Instead of using the traditional mono-plane 3D projection, fans got a full 360-degree view of the 3D images from above and below the stage.

The moment Jay took centre stage, the hair on this reviewer's neck stood up - literally.

And that's how good Jay was. He wasn't planning on stopping after making a grand entrance. His opening was to*tally mind-blowing. It was strange, new and sophisticated to begin with.

The concert was more like a magic show with its magi*cal fleet. Indeed, Jay appeared seemingly effortless from differ*ent trapdoors on the floor. The highlight of the show was when he appeared with a white grand piano, singing while playing all together. The piano, adorned with pink roses, suited perfectly well with the mood.

While his performance sent the crowd into a wild frenzy, the crowd became almost uncontrollable when he simply told off security members to back off and don't block his fans from coming closer to him.

It was total madness and chaos as fans rushed over to the front to shake his hands and to be close to him.

Jay displayed his musical talent with a pow and went on further to show his fans that he truly is a musical genius by changing his lyrics on the spot, while on-stage.

To give his legion of faithful fans a treat they had been waiting for, a special compilation of his music and film career was projected live on stage with special messages written by Jay himself, thanking each and every one of his fans.

Throughout the show, Jay kept the audiences captivated by his strong personas and excellent showmanship. Despite having to sing and dance 27 songs single-handedly, he showed great stamina and delivered great vocals.

Jay Chou, nevertheless, pulled one of the best overseas concerts with such huge success and continued to establish his popularity in the country. Dur*ing the course of the concert, he sang hit songs like Long Juan Feng, Ba Wo Hui Lai Le, Wo Bu Pei, Kai Bu Liao Kou, Hei She You Mo and Shi Guang Ji.
