Lee Yo-won and Lee Dong-wook in The Recipe

Though it's quite late for me to post this movie of one of my first bias in the Korean drama world none other than Lee Dong-wook, I'm still posting it. Anyway, this was the last project he did before he enlisted for the army last August 2009. He just got discharged this August 2011 and his first project is with Kim Sun-ah ( Kim Sam-soon) in the weekend SBS drama Scent of a Woman. I found this movie in YT just now, lucky! I'm downloading it right away because it can disappear anytime. Glad, he's back!

The Recipe, also translated directly as ‘Bean Paste’ [된장], is about a murderer on death row, played by Ryu Seung-ryong (Personal Taste), whose last request is to have the bean paste soup he had just before he was captured. Lee Yo-won (Queen Seon-duk) plays the woman behind that mysterious and captivating taste, and the story uncovers her love affair with a young man, played by Lee Dong-wook (Partner, My Girl).

It’s described as a mystery and a love story, and has a Citizen-Kane-esque structure, in searching for the meaning behind the titular bean paste. This was the last movie that Lee Dong-wook filmed before enlisting in the army, and Lee Yo-won’s highly anticipated first project since Queen Seon-duk.

The film is directed by Anna Lee [이서군], an NYU Film & TV grad who went on to be the youngest female Korean director with her 1997 film Rub Love [러브러브]. She also worked on Park Chul-Soo’s 301, 302 as a screenwriter. The Recipe will be her second feature film.

The movie had its world premiere at the Pusan Film Festival last year as a Gala presentation film.

2010.11.06 Belated Happy Birthday Lee Dong Wook!

God, I miss Lee Dong Wook a lot. I haven't seen his last drama last year with rumored real life girlfriend Kim Hyun Joo ( Jun Pyo's older sister in Boys Before Flower). They do look good together, although I really wanted him to have Lee Da Hae as a girlfriend instead since I so love them back from My Girl days.

Is he at the army already? Probably since I haven't heard some news about him after the drama. Or it could be that I'm not aware. He's just the same age as my another love Kang Dong Won. But of course I love them all. After all, I met Lee Dong Wook first then Kang Dong Won even before Hyun Joong came to my life.

I hope to see him well when he's back and hopefully he'll work with LDH again. I hope he's fine and he's in good health always at the army. Lee Dong Wook fighting!!!

God bless always and more power!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!  생일축하합니다!!!
