Voice of a Murderer
Korean Movie 2007
So far,the biggest hit of South Korea in 2007 surpassing all other hits before it. It's a true to life story of a kidnapping abduction case in 1991 of a 9 year old boy,son of a famous personality then. The boy was missing for 44 days and found dead at the Han River after the kidnapper had claimed almost $200,000 dollars to the parents. Until now,the kidnapper is still at large.This is a very great intense movie. A must see,you can't see anything like this great,only in Korea. The cast was absolutely superb but okay I admit I was only interested in this movie because of Kang Dong Won but other than that I really liked the movie. The way the story was told was extremely gripping. You can really feel the ruthlessness of the kidnapper. Thanks to Kang Dong Won's superb performance,and it's just his mean evil voice you hear all the time.And that laughter,who could forget it!The parents played by Kyung-gu Sol(Han Kyung-bae ) and Nam-ju Kim (Oh Ji-sun),absolutely amazing.I can really feel the anguish and pain of the parents. It's really heartbreaking to see their faces like that. The part where, Kyung-gu Sol, the father was running to the amusement park and he was praying,oh my God that really struck me.I even cried seeing his troubled face while praying for his son's safety. And the last part of the movie where he gets back to work,he cried infront of national television. God,I pity him so much.And the mother,when she waswalking and she suddenly loses consciousness in the middle of the road,she's like all the very bad things in the world is at her shoulder.But I must really praise Kang dong won for a very great ruthless performance and not just because I like him. This is another of his best, everyone agrees too!The whole movie was award winning,it's no surprise it's no. 1 at the box office.I sensed that the kid is already dead by the time that the kidnapper is asking for money.So sad, I thought he will give the kid back but I was wrong.2 thumbs up!You musn't miss this!!!

200 Pounds Beauty
I just recently finished watching 200 Pounds Beauty, a Korean movie last night through You Tube cause I haven't got the time to buy a dvd copy yet. First thing I have to say is that it's a very funny movie. Most of the time, you're laughing while watching the movie. What's so great about is,is that it's has a simple storyline. The director / writer didn't make it complicated just to make the story more appealing. It is much more appealing just as simple as it is. A overweight woman who is being deprive of everything despite her very strong voice just cause she's big. Then get's this chance of a lifetime to change her whole life through her overall plastic surgery. Like what I read last night,a review too said that it keeps to its identity as a comedy. Not like others that gets serious as the story goes on. It's a warm and touching story but it's not a drama movie. It makes you cry and makes you laugh as well.
The movie also showcases what could happen to someone who went through an overall extreme makeover. There was this scene in the movie where Sang Jun kisses Jenny and you know she stopped him from touching the wrong places cause she's terrified that Sang Jun might recognize that her boobs are implants,her nose is a fake and her hips is unnatural like what she claimed she is an all natural beauty. I just got into thinking that this exact situation might have also happened to those who had plastic surgery even not an overall surgery.There were also lots of funny scenes in the movie. Like when the people at the hospital tried to carry her to transfer to the other bed but couldn't cause she's so heavy,then she said she can just roll over.
The cast was great despite the fact that they we'rent as big as Song Hye Kyo, Kwon Sang Woo or whoever big Hallyu star in Korea.But they did a great job in this movie.Kim Ah Joong is such a beauty and what a voice she has. She's just perfect as Hanna which turned into Jenny. Her performance is so natural,it's effortless. I like the guy here as well,he's good looking and he did good job as the music producer/ love interest of Hanna. Another noted thing about the movie is its soundtrack. The songs are so great specially Maria and Byul.
So,last words I definitely recommend this movie. It's funny really and it's a very fun movie to watch. Buy the soundtrack too,you'll enjoy.

When u face problems in life, don't ask GOD to take them away. Ask Him to show His purpose- ask ways how to live a day searching his purpose for you. GOD BLESS...
